Flight of the Hummingbird: A Parable for the Environment

April 22, 2009, 1pm

Canterbury High School

900 Canterbury Avenue, Ottawa

Free Event

For students of Canterbury High School only

Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas will be talking to Canterbury students about his beautiful book, Flight of the Hummingbird, a touching hymn to mother nature. He will discuss how tiny steps can help change the world.

Yahgulanaas draws from an extensive corpus of Haïda narrative and transforms these stories into contemporary, accessible and socially relevant art. Social and environmental issues continue to play a big role in Yahgulanaas’ work and these are blended with his passionate belief in the power of the small.
