Described by the Globe and Mail as “a supremely melodic improviser,” Vancouver saxophonist Mike Allen has become an important name on the Canadian jazz scene. His album “Love One Another” was hailed as the “#1 Canadian Jazz Album of 2005” by the Ottawa Citizen.

This concert features guitar-great Jake Langley. Now based in New York, Langley gained international attention touring the world with the renowned Joey Defrancesco Trio.  Rounding out the quartet are young-guns Patrick Reid (bass) and Mark Nelson (drums).

This night of joyous, swinging music will be steeped in the tradition of the great saxophone-led groups of Sonny Rollins, Hank Mobley, and Allen's former teacher and musical mentor, Joe Henderson.
